Utah State has its ‘money’ game set up for the 2013 season.
According to USU, the Aggies and Trojans will meet in a scheduling arrangement that will also benefit Utah State’s basketball program. USC will visit the Spectrum for a basketball game in 2012 and USU will make a return trip to Southern California the next season.
That bit of news helps fill out the non-conference schedule nicely with a game at Utah tentatively scheduled for August 29th and a game in Logan against San Diego State slated for September 7.
USU and USC will probably play early in the season before the conference games begin.
Also announced with the USC news was a 4-game football series with Wyoming.
“USU will host Wyoming in a non-conference game on Oct. 8, 2011 in the first of a four-game series, spanning six years,” Utah State said in a press release. “The Aggies will play at Wyoming on Sept. 13, 2014 before hosting the Cowboys on Sept. 19, 2015 and then returning to War Memorial Stadium in Laramie on Sept. 10, 2016.”
Note the language, there. The first game in the series was labeled as a non-conference game. There was no such qualifier for the other three games. Raising questions about what conference will Utah State be in for 2013 and beyond and who will those conference opponents be?
