Thursday was a big day for the Western Athletic Conference.
Four players, the most in WAC history, were selected by NBA teams with two players going among the top 16 picks.
Fresno State sophomore Paul George went at No. 10 to Indiana while Nevada sophomore Luke Babbitt ended up at Portland after a trade following the No. 16 pick.
In the second round, Nevada junior Armon Johnson went to Portland with the No. 34 pick and Louisiana Tech’s Magnum Rolle went at No. 51 to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Not bad for a ‘mid-major’ conference that has struggled in the post season.
Which makes you wonder, if the conference has this much NBA talent why has there been such limited success in the post-season?
