Carrick Felix, a junior college star from the College of Southern Idaho made an unofficial visit to Utah State during the basketball season to take in a game at the Spectrum and make himself known to USU’s coaching staff.
That visit, though, was just a stop on his eventual way to Durham, N.C. where he eventually committed to Duke — the first ever JC player to get a scholarship offer from the Blue Devils while Mike Krzyzewski has been coach.
Now, Felix — a high-flying, sharp-shooting 6-foot-6 guard from Arizona — has put his name back in the recruiting pool after he was, according to Fox Sports Jeff Goodman, not admitted to Duke.
Could Utah State, the school Felix was once interested in enough to make a visit to, be back in the running for his services?
According to a source close to the Utah State basketball program Felix is not being recruited by the Aggies.
“He’s not interested in us,” the source said when asked if USU is interested in Felix. “He’s looking for a Pac-10 school.”
So, Aggie fans, the only player Utah State is currently recruiting to join the 2010-11 team remains Brady Heslip — who told the Deseret News he intends to make a decision sometime next week.
