Way too early Bracketology

Joe Lunardi over at ESPN.com has already released his extremely early predicitions for the 2011 NCAA basketball tournament field.

Utah State is in as an 8 seed playing Minnesota in the first round.

The Aggies, at least if this prediciton — which is being made before the spring signing date even happens and before potential NBA draft picks even decided whether or not to stay in the draft — holds true, will play in Tulsa with a second-round matchup against No. 1 seed Baylor in the waiting.

For what it’s worth, BYU is a 4-seed in the West playing against Wofford in Tucson. The Cougars’ second-round opponent would be … wait for it … Texas A&M.

Montana (15 seed) is in representing the Big Sky while San Diego State (10), UNLV (10) and New Mexico (among the ‘last four in’ and a 11 seed) represent the Mountain West.

Lunardi has no other WAC teams making it to the field of 65.

Now we only have 11 more months of revisions to sort through before Lunardi releases his final picks an hour before the NCAA Selection Committee does the same thing.
