USU vs. UVU halftime update

USU plays balanced offense with eight players scoring. Aggies run some plays designed specifically to get Tyler Newbold involved in offense early and he responds with a pair of 3-pointers.

Brian Green playing point ahead of Jaxon Myaer and he plays confidently by making 3-of-3 3-pointers, grabbing three rebounds and making few errors.

Nate Bendall has a solid half with nine points, six rebounds and no fouls.

But after a thunderous dunk through traffic by Pooh Williams with 2:12 to play in half gave the Aggies a 48-15 lead, Utah Valley made an impressive run off four USU turnovers and closed the half with a 14-0 run to make it 48-29 at the break.

Wolverine guard Corey Claitt scored 12 of those points including a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Aggies what was certain to be a nasty talking to from Stew Morrill in the locker room.

Utah State shot 57.1 percent overall and hit 7-of-12 3-pointers in the first 20 minutes while holding an 18-9 rebounding advantage.
